I think we might be clearing the “stress-area.” At least for EQG.  
We have a full picture of DHX’s last work on it, we know Boulder is in charge, it sounds like there is enough left of Season 2 to keep us going for a few more months, and if all goes well, shortly after that Boulder will begin work on their era of EQG.

It is factual MLP is not ending, Hasbro said so on their announcment for the end of FiM.  
And as for the “last EQG special” to clarify, it is just the last one by DHX.  
No idea how Boulder plans to represent EQG, but Boulder confirmed in a Facebook comment about 2 months ago that EQG is theirs to work on going forward, though they have not started work yet.
