I have no idea, but I can think of a reason.
Kick-Ass being an ordinary geeky teen who decided one day, he wants to be a superhero in the real world. Kick-ass usually gets his own ass kicked ironically.
So I can see the comparison to Spike since Spike is usually the butt of any joke, it’s also canon in an episode where Spike becomes a superhero…but a Superhero sidekick to the main 6. And Sidekicks usually are the butt of a joke, get kidnapped, or simply get their ask kicked.
So you see it comes full circle why this exist, Kick-Ass Spike
