Sure it’d be great if the show would keep on living, but honestly, I think it’s a good idea to reach an end eventually. The fact that we’ve got such a long run has been a blessing enough (and a curse, to some).
 
I just hope the ending is conclusive and satisfying, and doesn’t leave too many loose ends.

a season 10 wouldn’t be bad if they sped up the timeline by like 5 years. A time skip is always a good reason to not change stuff around. (like the cmc and all the fillies and foals are older and adults. Twilight is older and maybe a slightly bigger pony… little things like that)

You do realize that the season 9 finale is going to be more so than any finale before it, going to end the series right?
 
Do you have even the slightest clue how much ridiculous things the writers will have to do to make Season 10 not total nonsense in the face of that?

I still agree with the other people though. They would have to rewrite some of the season 9 stuff and that would be too much work, seeing as they’ve already begun to make episodes that are important to the finale.
