“they are at least they’re trying to be good parents instead of flat out ignoring her. “
Opposite, though? They’re doing the opposite. From the episode it looks like Scoots has to go see them in order to get any sort of interaction and coupled with the other episodes its clear they don’t try to be in her life and Parental Glidance makes it clear that she feels neglected. Her aunts are kind of assholes, and honestly her dad really shouldn’t have put so much trust in his sister. I get it, she’s family, but she clearly doesn’t want to be a part of Scoots life for more than a brief period, like most aunts are? She didn’t want to see Scootaloo at the Equestrian games in her big moment, when she was was in the talent show, and the fact nobody even knew to go get either of them, or they tried and it didn’t work, during Washouts kinda paints a big picture.
At the end of the day, make no mistake, this is on her parents. I know they said their work was vital and they were the only ones qualified enough to even pull it off, but at some point they had to make a hard choice and they chose wrong. They clearly love her and don’t want to leave her behind, but this would have been a ton easier if they’d come back when they said they would. Aunt Holiday may be a bit of a selfish absentee, but she’s still just her aunt.

That is the big Problem in real life isn´t it. IRL if your parents and your close Family (the aunts in this case) don´t care noone else is close enough to the child to actually care to speak up(or even know About the Problem).
Biggest Problem of the Episode is that her parents did not let Scoots live with her aunts to begin with if they HAD to travel the world for their Job without her.
Small Change big difference.
@Keira Alcove
as someone grew up with neglectful parents, I would have love for someone to step and say what they were doing wrong. In the end, I was forced to grow up and take command of life far too early and missed out many things. So yes, Scootaloo’s parents are shit. And though, I’m not fond of the aunts either, they are at least they’re trying to be good parents instead of flat out ignoring her.
I can and will agree less with all of your unnecessary hatred toward Scootaloo’s parents.
How would you like it if people started hating your family just because they hardly got any mention?

I don’t like how they’ve introduced Scootaloo’s parents now when we’ve gotten basically zero mention of them before. Unless the comics featured them more. Though it’s nice that they brought Holiday and Lofty on.
