I have no problem with variety. However, the artist does it in such a way that it looks incredibly obnoxious, as if he wanted to scream “LOOK HOW UNIQUE I AM! LOOK HOW I DITCH THE CANON HAIRSTYLES AND REPLACE THEM WITH MY OWN! PRAISE ME!”.

Why? What’s wrong with being unique? It’s nice to see an artist try something different instead of following the show 100%, even if I disagree with the artist for a few beliefs, I like the hairstyles, most vectory artists just copy the show exact. Variety is nice sometimes.

Those hairstyles, however, are retarded. At least to me. They make it seem as if the artist was trying to be edgy and unique, but all what it does is making the characters look excessively anime-like and out-of-character.
