I only agree with Pinkie-Kirby and RD-Sonic.
 
Reason:  
Both Pinkie and Kirby are pink and gluttonious.  
Both RD and Sonic are blue, fast, arrogant, competitive.
 
The other characters’ reason aren’t based on character’s traits or personality, so it became invalid on many people’s eyes.  
Fluttershy is an animal lover, but Pikachu is an animal, cannot be an animal lover, character to compare to her like this must be sapient.
 
If this image only have Pinkie and RD comparison, then it will have more upvotes, unless if you are impressive enough to find fitting charcters for other 4, even more upvotes awaits.

Rarity is more like Lara Croft.  
Rainbow Dash and Sonic are a good match, but Rayman is also plausible.  
Pinkie Pie could be Kirby, or again, plausibly Rayman.  
Applejack is more towards Mario than any of them.  
Fluttershy is more like Luigi.  
Twilight is pretty much like Jeff from Earthbound.

Also, She has a friend that’s a dragon. So Spike would have a friend.

Mario and Twi have absaloutely nohing in common.
 
Mario = Not very intelligent, but is- as said below- humble, brave, heroic, and selfless., and doesn’t hesitate to do what’s right.
 
Twi = Intilligent, belives own beliefs only and will go extremely far to prove someone els’ is wrong(Very Selfish in a way), and usualy hesitates big time on weather or not to do good, sometimes tries to deny it.

I still thinks this theory is true.

In my opinion Applejack is most like Mario. Has a humble job and leads a simple life. But, due to being brave, reliable, and agile is often called upon to save the day. Twilight boast an intelligence that is more like Link or Zelda.

rainbow dash cant run 100 mph, she can fly it though sry to be nit picky but ur list makes no sence to me besides pinkie and dash, and mario doesent have powerful abilities he gets his powers and fun stuff from items and power ups the only thing i see in common with twilight and mario is that they both get called upon to defend the kindom and are close to the princess, and just because fluttershy likes animals why would you pick pikachu why wouldnt you pick somone that likes animals instead of an animal itself. rarity likes dragons? she finds them majestic yes and likes spike but again why compare her to spyro instead of someone that loves dragons. applejack and rayman? rayman was never a fan favorite character he was always the underatted cult classic kind of character, i dont mean to sound like an ass and i know this is your oppinion i just cant see your logic being sound and i think there are better choices

Rarity as Spyro? Nooooot really. She’s more Lara Croft, minus the tomb raiding. Fluttershy wouldn’t be Pikachu, she’s often racked by fear, so at most, she’d be Luigi. AJ as Rayman? Not plausible.

Spyro looked a lot like Spike.

Rarity is only fond of Spike. And even then they don’t have anything in common. You could suggest Link just because they both keeps finding gems.

If I was going to associate a pokemon with Fluttershy, it’d either be Audino or Chansey.

Pikachu is quite fearless. He pounces at Team Rocket constantly, shooting thunder at them without so much as an “eep, I can’t do it!” Sure, if he gets captured, he’s a bit scared, but if you were shoved into a tiny cage by your worst enemies you’d freak out too. In the first episode of Pokemon, Pikachu was, for lack of a better word, a complete and total bitch. He laughed at Ash, ran away from him, and caused general chaos. It took a while for the thing to completely warm up to him. This doesn’t sound like Fluttershy at all, even if you want to say “Well, she was Flutterbitch at the time, under Iron Will’s influence and all.”
