It’s not that easy though, as costs, studios, talent, ratings, popularity, and such are factors in how long western shows last.
And actually, there are some shorter lived anime, as well. Trigun, and such didn’t last long, but are still popular.
The Kirby anime was only 100 episodes, less then MLP.
Western animation just doesn’t last long enough. You can probably count the number of shows that made it to 200 episodes on one hand. You can’t do that with anime. Western animation should last longer.
Most shows are lucky to last half as long.
