To be fair, Twilight forgiving/redeeming those ponies you’ve used as examples has worked out surprisingly well so far, whereas one episode more or less demonstrated that Flim and Flam would likely turn Equestria into a peak-capitalist wasteland if completely left to their devices.
 
As for Twilight not initially letting go of her grudge on Trixie, that was used as a plot point in a later episode (I can never remember the names for most episodes smh), and that episode did portray Twilight’s mistrust of Trixie as being unreasonable (at least, initially).
 
All in all, Twilight’s track record is solid enough that the odds would work in her favor should she take the Princesses’ place, in my opinion.

And they’re putting TWILIGHT in charge of Equestria? The pony who’s gotten into a nasty habit of forgiving world-destroying psychopaths (Starlight, the Pony of Shadows and Tempest) while bearing grudges against ponies who’s done far less terrible things (Trixie, Flim and Flam)?

FYI, despite the frequent monster attacks, Twilight and friends has dealt with the “bi-yearly” disasters far more efficiently than the Princess, who’s efforts were flawed enough it left loose ends 1000 years later to deal with.
