IMO, kirins also enjoy cobalt and cadmium dust on their food to help with growth of their scales. They enjoy all kinds of minerals that are fatal to ponies—their diets are closer to a dragon’s.

Another artist already drew a picture of Kirin eating toasters, so why not Kirin attacking sheds or garages and drinking up all of their equipment fuel?

With those who have a head cannon of a farmer who has a shed full of equipment when it was that small they run the equipment off of Jerry cans when those wonder if a herd of Kirins get into the shed where the fuel is being stored and try to drink up the fuel stored in yellow or even blue Jerry cans when the fumes was to set one fuel type from another when diesel fuel has its own fumes.

But how would they manufacture the fluid… It’s a petroleum-based fluid, and I don’t think any nation on the face of Equus has figured out how to process hydrocarbons, (well, there could be some spells that cause organic matter to break down into kerogen, petroleum, coal, and other mixed hydrocarbons, but I’m not sure if kirin magic is the same as unicorn magic)… I do like the idea though that kirin need to consume fossil fuels, I imagine them just sitting around a tar pit like it’s a watering hole, then defecating asphalt.

If you go by how the Kirin were presented in the episode, yah, they have a fully self sefficient village complete with agriculture and etc…  
But this is more exciting than that. :p
