And another pony shipping art. Big Macintosh and Twilight Sparkle. This is set at the end of Magical Mystery Cure the night Twilight became and Alicorn. (so she hasn’t had her coronation yet and relatively few people know about her transformation).
I imagine that this scene would be something like Twilight rushing to sweet apple acres to tell Big Macintosh what happened. As she runs she starts thinking about everything. Doubts start nagging at her brain about the fact she’s a princess and an allicorn now. She stops. Perhaps it’s because of the exhaustion and the hype of so many changes so fast, but she is suddenly seized by the irrational fear that Big Macintosh will be disgusted by her new form. She starts thinking about all of those she knows. Sure the girls were all right with it, but what about everyone else? Would they think she thought she was better than them? She stands immobile for some time before she takes a few royal deep breaths and walks through the gates. She’s surprised to hear the sound of somepony working and follows until she sees Big Macintosh bucking trees. He seems upset. She knows he often comes out and works at night when there’s something bothering him and he can’t sleep.
Twilight’s nerves choke the words in her throat and she’s tempted to turn around again. All she can manage is to clear her throat. He turns and looks taken back. At first she thinks it’s because her wings but then he breaks into a smile of pure relief and begins to go toward her saying, “Twilight, you’re… you’re back.”
Twilight manages a smile tight with emotion. She had forgotten that she’s spent most of the afternoon missing. He must have been so worried. She starts to step forward but feels the unaccustomed weight of her wings unfurl by her sides. Big Macintosh looks possibly more stunned and stumbles back a step, even knocking over the bucket that was sitting by the tree. Twilight folds her wings back into her self, her eyes sinking. She knew it…
After a moment she hears him step toward her, feels his eyes examining her wings. She expects a lot of things, exclamations of shock and disgust. What he doesn’t expect is his voice quiet, if not a bit winded, ask, “You’re still you?”
Twilight looks up. He doesn’t look like he’s running. At least not yet. She nods. “I’m still me.”
Big Macintosh stares at her wings a little while longer, as if trying to understand them. Finally he reaches out and touches one of them with his hoof. Twilight opens it, allowing this. He lowers his head, placing a small kiss on the end. He smiles up at her. “Good enough for me.”
