Of the apple family depending on how you look at it.
 
So this is a little look into my MLP next Gen universe.
 
The stallion on the far right is named Mandrake, or Drake for short. He’s the only child of Big Mac and Twilight Sparkle and is part of the royal guard like his Uncle. He has a strained relationship with his mother who due to her every growing responsibilities, didn’t have much time for child rearing. As such, he grew up primarily on Sweet Apple Acres and formed a stronger maternal bond with his aunt Apple Bloom.  
The little Filly on the left is Poppy, Twilight’s protege and adopted daughter. She is a quiet filly with immense, though mostly uncontrolled magical ability. She was found by Twilight outside of Calestia’s castle, staring up with a blank expression with a magic force field surrounding her. After talking with her for only a few moments, Twilight managed to calm the little filly enough to lower the barrier. Instead of punishing the child, Twilight decided that she would take the talented little foul under her wing, as Celestia had done with her.
 
The two siblings get along fairly well on the few occasions they meet, with Drake being rather protective over his adopted sister.
 
 
FYI. A LOT of these kids are part of the apple family. Didn’t intend that. It’s just they have a lot of family members. XD
