also some of the people who believe it’s because of the leaks are saying that hasbro should have better security which is almost like telling someone has been robbed that if they didn’t want to be born they should have had better locks

Trixie does come out looking slightly better in the release than she does in the animatic. While there’s no twitter feed confirming this, there is speculation that the decision was made to keep with the continuity established by Forgotten Friendship. It was not done to punish anyone.

None of the explanations here make much sense.  
>If there was a runtime-limit on the shorts, the writers would’ve been told of it and wouldn’t have recorded an animantic that they knew would be cut for length.  
>The idea that the footage was cut to somehow “punish” folks for watching a leaked animantic is absurd. The number of folks who would’ve seen the leaked footage is minuscule compared to the target audience; there’s no reason the Hasbro folks would care one way or the other about it.

To be fair, it’s not like it’s missing anything. The rest of the leaked version was just “Trixie is real bad at the magics and gets angry at Pinkie”, with nothing witty involved. Which is… not the best writing.

Well as the old saying goes win some lose some. Though to be honest this really isn’t that much of a loss anyway at least it wasn’t an entire season or episode that was shortened/cut from FIM.
