I never really said I liked this either, my reaction is pretty much just “Eh”.
 
I thought it was kind of amusing but the joke is factually wrong anyway because border patrol and other law enforcement are obviously unaffected by the shutdown. At any rate I don’t think any serious discussion is warranted here, bait is bait.
 
It’s a little fart. That’s what all this is. A little fart that someone someone somewhere is probably going to turn into a fire. When that happens you can count on me unsubbing from this, I have better things to do. But at any rate though I still don’t see this as grossly racist.

The way it’s expressed is bad because it tries to kindle racist animosities in the Trumpists it targets, even though it is also trying to subvert that feeling for tears and to subvert loyalties. Trying to kindle racist feelings is a racist act by itself, and Trumpists cannot be the only audience of a post like this.

I can guarantee you I’m not a racist. I grew up surrounded by people of different colors and ethnicities. My best friend is transgender and my other best friend is African American.
