as long as gen5 either continues from gen4 but in the future, or there are some easter eggs from gen4 characters.
Or, if gen5 attracts the same kind of audience members like gen4.
That is what I assume.
That’s assuming they think once.
They will think twice before they risk a flop with G5.
If what they cared about was the show, possibly. But again, it’s a 22 minute commercial. If the toys aren’t selling, and people aren’t watching, it’s time to reboot.
As long as G4 is successful (and it is) it is likely to continue.
Hasbro first and foremost sells toys. Having a new show without a decade of backstory will attract a new age group of young girls who went from ages 5-8 to ages 15-18 in the span of FiM. Those girls, who are the primary reason the show exists, are too old to buy new ponies. They are the reason Hasbro is making Gen 5. It’s the same reason DC and Marvel do reboots; they want a new audience, the old one doesn’t look lucrative enough.
In all of this cold calculus, Hasbro never even considers the odd fandom the show generates for their toy sales. Mostly because we can never approach the buying power of parents for their young girls. We did manage to convince them to keep this iteration of ponies going for far longer than they had originally planned. But it was never going to last forever.

Yeah… we know Dashie is faster than Sonic 😜 But you should hear Sonic fans argue lol they say things like Sonic once ran faster than light!

That one’s easy. Sonic maxes out at 3000 MPH. But Rainbow can travel 7,610 MPH. Death Battle has spent a stupid amount of time documenting speeds of characters.
Wow! lol. I’ve seen that one, it’s pretty good. I grew up watching transformers.
But the funniest thing to me is when people compare Rainbow Dash to Sonic and fight over who’s faster. 😃
