absolutely. you see this, i see this:
some users we can actually see their personality change completely based on whether they’re as-anon or as-named. nevertheless, we respect user privacy and never divulge anon identities… unless we catch then sockpuppeting in the comments to cause drama and/or break the rules. then they’re fair game. we don’t respect those who don’t respect our rules or other users, and all that.

we have many ways of knowing who’s who and all that. everything from dedicated functions used to identify this and that, to good old fashioned common sense.

totally. i actually can’t think of a reason we would change an uploader to/from anonymous unless they actually wanted us to do it. sometimes we change uploader credit of an image to the artist who drew it, though. same with comments and posts: as long as they don’t break any rules we’re not going to delete them unless asked. i’m just saying we can, in fact, do it.
