Yeah, I noticed that watching someone’s review of the first film. I wonder if this was intentional. If it is, that’s some epic/clever foreshadowing.

Although it was hinted at in the first EqG, Pinkie mentions someone living in the city who looks just like Twilight and asks if they’re related or something.

Could be the case, considering at the beginning of the first movie, we see her steal the crown, and then she has it in the EQG-verse, implying she went through the portal with it, much like how Twilight and Spike travel through the portal and we don’t know whether there’s a Human!Twilight or Dog!Spike already there until that bit and the end of Rainbow Rocks.. Never thought about that.

Raises the question…

So I actually watched the movie last night, and understand what’s going on here. Somehow, I was completely oblivious to what these comments were referring to. How, I don’t know. But this does raise some eyebrows. I wondered why there wasn’t a second Twilight in the Equestria Girls universe, yet every other pony that matters had a human counterpart simultaneously in both verses. Except that thought was buried at the bottom of my mind until the end of the movie, when this clip played after the credits.
 
I’d love for the to go in depth with this whole thing. It would be really cool, hopefully.
