They’re in the middle of an occupation, i think there’s more than enough conflict in their inability to do a damn thing about it as they are.

If this movie has no drama, most critics will like it less and dismiss it as some movie for babies with no conflict jfc

Witch proves my point it was originally planned to be after season 4, however when season 5 started, the movie wasn’t ready yet, so they had to make some minor changes to have it to date with the g4 main storyline(which was barely enough).

About Starlight Glimmer, there is a comic of her fighting the minions without even breaking a sweat, and then trixie exposes herself and then they got captured because of trixie being stupid.

That would explain why Starlight Glimmer was nowhere to be found. But even then Discord should have still be able to help.If the conflict was the Storm king managed to steal Discords powers that would definitely bring in some conflict. Also what was the tree of harmony doing this whole time? The tree is sentient and can defend itself and has so far proven to be the most powerful force in Equestria. Capable of taking down a super powered centaur infused with the earth, unicorn, pegasus, alicorn, and draconequus magic. Plus maybe some other species we didn’t see on screen.
