Yeah, but nowadays instead of murdering a blog for having occasional boobies, they’re murdering blogs for posting evidence that some of Tumblr’s mods are venomously anti-trans and pro-zionist.
Agreed
I hate this comment so much…
Doesn’t matter what your blog was about or how active you were, they’ve nuked pretty much a mix of anything…
I doubt tumblr would take me down. I’ve reblogged like three things and there’s nothing else on there.
Letting spambots follow you and reblog your posts is like standing next to a bunch of mobsters on a streetcorner, sooner or later you gon’ get gunned down by association; Tumblr’s whack-a-mole algorithms only know spammers are spammers if enough people report them for the arbitrary minimums to kick in, and any blog that has a lot of links to them is more likely to also get bathwater baby’d.
I usually just ignore them since is seems to be an irregular thing that happens occasionally.
I still get followed by pron bots
Are you reporting them for spam and blocking them? That’s the only way Tumblr’s deletebots will ever know about them.
Alright point made there
An army of bullet sponges.
I still get followed by pron bots so obviously tumblr has done nothing and messed up everything yet again.
We have an army
That thing is so tiny it’s cute.
We have a death star.
We have a APC
I have an ISD
We won’t move along Don’t make me call for reinforcements
A lot of blogs likely got hit because they didn’t police their notes or follower lists, and whatever cockeyed algorithm Tumblr used instead of Actual Oversight By Actual Humans appears to have assumed that blogs which were followed by– or had their posts regularly reblogged by– a lot of known spamblogs must have also been spamblogs; supposedly the three or four H. sapiens who work for Tumblr have been fairly good about restoring unjustly nuked blogs if the artists email them to contest the deletion.

:D
They don’t feed those typewriter monkeys the good bananas, man.
It was pretty fucking random.
Supposedly an attempt to kill of porn bots, but they somehow managed to hit artist blogs that never reblogged anything and whose posts barely ever linked to anywhere offsite. You’d think they’d have a human check that blogs with thousands of followers or that’ve been active for over half a decade wouldn’t just get smudged off the internet, but loltumblr.
