Well, it’s still used by other people regardless. It’s kinda like Dick, Billy, Chuck, and Daisy. They’re all shortened versions of names that don’t make a lot of sense at first.

Been around a few Beatrice’s. Not once have I heard a “Trixie” from others around them. More rare than calling a guy named William “Billy”.

It’s a shortened form of Beatrix, Beatrice, or Patricia. It’s a perfectly normal name for a human.

It isn’t common, but is a name used a lot as a shortened version of Beatrice. And it is still used quite a bit today as a regular name as well.
