I mean they could and do imply that they died offscreen as long as they never directly mention death, avatar did something similar with jet’s death heck Disney does it all the time, I do believe this trend is called “never say die.” (I’m quite aware that this is months late but I don’t care.)

Can characters die off-screen in TV-Y? I mean, we saw Sombra explode, but they got away with that because he had so little development he was barely even a “character”, and they could even argue he was just some shadow or ghost or spiritual remnant or something. I dunno, some people say that.
