I too thoroughly enjoy both, hell I enjoy anything G4pony related(comics, EQG, movie, Show, Games, books).

To me he’s the most relatable in the Marvel Universe, he’s easily my favorite. Here’s a man with immense intellect, but due to his past trauma mixed with the Gamma Bomb radiation turned him into a monster and he has to live with it every day, sometimes he has to resort to simpler methods of solving problems. No matter his efforts, even dying quite a few times in recent times, he or the Hulk finds a way to come back to life and resume the endless cycle.  
It seems like it’s almost impossible for Banner to ever find peace that will last longer than say a couple days.

Bruce is a man of reason that speaks to me.

Bendis wrote a pretty level headed Banner/Hulk during the Ultimate End books by the time of before the Secret Wars event kicked off a few years back. Even in his Doc Green Hulk form, he admitted saying “Hopefully cooler heads will prevail” as the voice of reason is how bad things got at the time.

I would always joke about being on Team Hulk, Thor, or Spider-Man when people would bring up the Civil War stuff (mostly because I like both Cap and Tony but I do genuinely enjoy the characters I joke about as well).
 
I’m with Banner on this one too.
