Dinner was tense that night.
Galaxy Guard and Firefly sat across from each other at the dining table, eating in complete silence. And deep down, Galaxy knew exactly what was on both of their minds. With one look at Firefly’s unusually stoic expression, all hope that she didn’t know what she had done had gone out the window.
“So,” Galaxy awkwardly cleared her throat, “The cooks did a nice job with this one.”
“Yeah,” Firefly glanced up. “Too bad our kid ain’t here to enjoy it with us. Where is she?”
Galaxy gulped. “Lulu? She’s-“
“I mean Parasite.”
“She ran away, remember? We have no idea where she is-“
Firefly narrowed her eyes. “Then why did I run into her blubbering in the streets today?”
“I have no idea-“
Galaxy jumped as Firefly slammed her chair in. “Don’t play dumbass with me, Gal!” She flared her wings out angrily and approached her. “You think she didn’t tell me what was going on? How you turned her out high and dry?”
“I…” As Galaxy stared into her wife’s piercing teal eyes, she suddenly found herself at a loss for words. But she swallowed her fear, refusing to let it show as she forced out a rebuttal. “I’m her parent! I…I needed to teach her a lesson! She’ll come to her senses and return to us in no time!”
“You really have no idea, do you Gal?” Firefly shook her head. “Parasite ain’t the one who needs to come to her senses. Dissing your own kid? That’s low, even for you.”
“What?”
“You took this too far, bitch. Get the buck out of my house.”
