Dinky: “If I’m a Wolf Pony what’s that makes you?”
Sky: “A Mutty’s uncle.”
Dinky: “Your so weird.”
To be fair, in this case, hunting license might be more like the real world equivalent where they can hunt wild animals.
But you do understand what I’m getting at with my original point.
Thanks, I remember that page now.
So vampires who behave themselves and are upstanding citizens can receive a hunter licenses that allows them to kill criminals without trial? Or are they on the run and have been sentenced to death in absences? And this is something both Celestia and Luna approve off. Killing a pigeon, on the other hand, is bad and if you’re caught doing it you’ll be sentenced to jail.
So If I am a regular pony with with a serious heart condition, could I buy a hunter’s license, kill a criminal and take his heart for myself? Wouldn’t much different than a vampire killing someone for food, right? And I only need to kill one pony for it.
Well there was that vampire that stuck to pigeons since he didn’t have a hunting license…
Makes you wonder how many bad people are out there. I haven’t followed the comic very closely so I don’t know how many good vampires exist and if they need to kill to sustain themselves but this leads to some very unfortunate implications. Either there are enough bad guys out there to feed every good supernatural creatures, which means that that there’s a really large number of murders, rapists and other scum running around in Equestria. Or there aren’t enough bad guys around which means a lot of supernatural creatures have to eat innocent unless they want to starve.
@redweasel
Reminds me of Pun’s origin story.
“Hey look, a mare who just watched a whole restaurant of people, including her best friend, laughing themselves to death and almost suffered the same fate. Wanna join the Special Forces and become an undercover agent?”
“Don’t you think she may need a therapist, first?”
“Nah, she looks fine.”
“But what if she’s witnesses another robbery, which triggers her and makes her beat the robber almost to death in front of a terrified audience?”
“I said she looks fine! Now get her a Night Guard uniform and me another coffee!”

And now I have the mental image of Dinky as a puppy, looking up at Derpy, with her tongue hanging out and her tail wagging.
oh hey, your parents died? that’s a shame. say you kids wanna be dawn knights? we’re recruiting child soldiers now!
You can do the whole ‘Racism is Bad’ song and dance as many times as you want, but it doesn’t erase the fact that the previous comics in this series have shown that vampires are very dangerous and willing to kill. Even Vinyl, the main character, has demonstrated she’s very willing to kill, in some pretty brutal ways no less. While we’ve gotten a look at the werewolves that do want to play nice with Derpy’s back story, the fact the Dawn Knights are needed at all shows there’s plenty out there who aren’t nearly as friendly. To say nothing of the other creatures that have been mentioned in passing.
And then there’s the bounty system that Vinyl mentioned in one of the other comics, allowing supernatural creatures like herself to target criminals to keep themselves fed. The whole thing seems incredibly sketchy, with the justification seeming to be that, since they’re bad, it’s okay to do bad things to them. Thing is, that’s pretty much the same justification Sky is using for his actions here; that supernatural creatures do bad things, so it’s okay to do bad things to them.
Now, yes, Sky’s mental state is pretty clearly far from healthy, which isn’t helped by the fact no one seemed to consider getting either him or Derpy some therapy following their parents’ deaths, which could have done wonders to prevent this situation. And he’s still very much in the wrong for his actions at the moment, I’m not disputing that. But, he does seem to be hitting a bit closer to the truth than the author intended.
Dinky pointed that out, you know.
I mean it’d be great if he was trying to sacrifice himself forcing her to kill him to prove that she’s a monster, and to end his failure of a life.
or maybe he’s not planning on fighting her at all, but just wants her to accidentally kill her own mom in a rage, while he trollfaces the fuck out of there.
but I guess instead it’s just… “surely this trash talk and exposition will make her weak and helplesser even though I already have her tied up and helpless.”
I literally could not care what he has to say or what he does, he’s that dull. I’m just waiting for Derpy to show up and kill him in some dramatic scene where I’m expected to care when I honestly would care about getting a bug bite.
Seriously, I’ve never understood why these kinds of villains are all over the place in the Mlp fandom. They’re a freaking Bore.

Pretty sure its meaning changed with the setting, but you’d have to ask Terminus.
“They’re just biding their time.”
“Have you met their king? He’s a bigger sweetheart than Mom.”
“Your mother took my eye.”
“You know what I mean.”
I’m afraid this maybe end in dear uncle here getting mualed by a snapped Dinky rage awakening her werewolf blood. (Wait the Were means man right? ponewolf?equestrianwolf? Whatever.) Which would be satisfying at first, but then Sky dies believing he was right and Dinky losing her innocence.
