The proposal was sent anonymously to the Canterlot Tourism Committee and caused much uproar within the palace staff. The proposal was initially rejected, with an official letter of caution being sent, but the anonymous proponent was quite insistent, resubmitting a veritable deluge of postcards-to-be upon the committee. It was eventually decided that things had gone far enough and the princess was brought into the decision making process.
Celestia treated the matter with the calm, rational demeanour that she was so well known for, but her reaction to the “questionable” proposal was unexpected. She took one look at it, smiled widely and excitedly declared “I love it! I want these sold in every shop in canterlot!”, which rather put an end to the matter. The postcard was a massive success and has become one of the most widely distributed, not to mention iconic, images of the princess to this day.
