It also explains why she had hard time getting her past with Sunburst and her past crimes and mistakes. Her father had the issue as well.

Now it makes sense why Starlight dies not care much for research, ancient history, or antiques, (unless its important emergency warrants it), back “Uncommon Bond” happened. She already had to go through a whole chikdthrough of it being drilled into her to the point of frustration.
 
It also explains why she had issues with magic when she was a foal until Sunburst helped her with his guidance in the Season 6 flashback.
 
She was able to excell much better when someone helps her through her studies amd allows examples, but it goes to a crawl when on her own.
