Yeah. They’re not showing any form of planning because that’s not the interesting parts of the show. But the absence of them not showing it doesn’t mean they at no attempt tried anything.
 
You’re the one sitting here making assumptions that they haven’t tried anything to stop Discord. Also when I said tampering I’m talking about researching his powers to make actual countermeasures which is dangerous as hell because you like to remind us how he’s basically a bomb.
 
Also, I did assume they tried anything. I asked for a citation because you’re the one telling me they didn’t do anything. So I would like some actual citations backing up this information you supposedly know.

Current duckery aside, I hope Twilight learns the lesson that sometimes force is an unwelcome, but necessary final option to dealing with foes. Costly, sometimes, but not something that can always be avoided. It’s one of the things I like about Silfoe’s portrayal of Celestia, that she comes off as absolutely not wanting violence but willing to take up magic and blade to defend Equestria when called on.
 
And, frankly, for that to work I think Twilight has to be shown wrong. Not just that the raid happens and someone maybe Vulpa dies, but that Twilight has to see, not just be told, there was no better option.

You keep demanding but haven’t put forth any thing showing planning or even remote contradiction to her witholding information.  
If Tirek can consume the power of an Alicorn, why not make the effort to try?  
If Discords statue wasn’t actively tampered with, which guess what genius, pouring cement wouldn’t break the thing unless you hired the least trustworthy crew in the world, it’s not being tampered with it’s being contained. And moving the damn thing to a sealed room isn’t tampering since she carried it in a chariot for christ sake.
 
Citation needed? Like your assumption they tried anything, despite every source from the show to the comics saying blatantly otherwise?  
I’m sorry I expect guards to do their jobs, and a ruler to gurantee to the best of their ability, not to a reasonable degree, the best they can do, that their people are safe and not living in a world of ignorance is bliss till the sun comes crashing down on them.  
Low and behild, a theocratic system with the supposed gods being on the throne doesn’t normally see competition or rapid change.  
So yes, were it not for her horrible planning, the system would still be stagnant.
 
Counter literally any point of mine with anything that doesn’t say she did enough when she has done nothing other then trow Twilight and the bearers at the problem after it gets free from sheer negligence.

Hey pal, they fought Tirek once before Twilight did, and low and behold it’s clearly stated he’a not the only bloody member of his species in said episodes.  
You have an entire population, as I said earlier if you even bother to read it, that they could get help from. His brother and their kingdom, who no doubt have records of the ability and probably have them locked up in an archive for protection.  
Again. “It’s a dud! Not like it could ever go off even if we leave it fully functional!” Great logic, so brilliant and not the least bit lazy and using out of sight out of mind logic.  
Also yeah, Luna went coocoo and sold her life in a bargain less then a century after he was sealed, and the elements had yet to sit dormant for centuries. The seals still at full freaking strength at that point and the subsequent incidents probably contributed to it’s weakening. Like anyone thinking in cause and effect would recognize.  
Even if they don’t work at least you freaking tried instead of just twiddling your thumbs like an idiot, and low and behold every other time the elements were used their were prophecies denoting when the effects would wear off, at least ballparked around 1000+ years.  
What genius idea is it to think this one might be the outlier out of all of them? With the god of chaos? Who’s only loosely if at all held to the laws governing magic use and is probably fighting the seal every second it’s active?  
Genius.  
Congrats. An entire portion of the continent where magic doesn’t work. And people go missing to reappear suddenly.  
We have conspiracy theories about the bermuda triangle and we actual have an idea of what causes that, do you think no one, at all, would try digging into this? That a ruler wouldn’t have cause for concern when it’s a consistent issue and outposts don’t function regardless of who’s sent to them?  
Or is it just not anyones job to secure borders and find out why theres such a strange pattern of disappearances here?
 
And yeah, stagnant.  
They treat Celestia and Luna like dieties and probably have some form of religion around them seeing as their immortal and move objects that took a half dozen of the best mages to do so earlier in history, not to mention use their names in the places of figures of the type. They follow her zealously and even Twilight doesn’t question things when she’s being told that she’s the only one who can save a city, even after she finds out she wasn’t given half the information available during that happy little breifing session.  
Also, at least I’m trying to come up with something instead of sittig on my ass and praying the ancient barely understood, if at all, artifact does what I want.  
Good lord you act like doing anything about these threats is blasphemy or something, like expecting someone who sits in a position of power to do their job is toxic.  
You’ve even answered your own questions half the time, but you keep acting like all these events can’t be tied to eachother even minutely and demand they be treated as seperate events.

We didn’t know Tirek could drain Discord until AFTER it happened.
 
In order to research and develops some counter measures you need a base or a sample to study. So buddy, where are you going to get a sample to study Discord that isn’t risking releasing Discord?
 
And exactly how would you know those seals work without releasing Discord to test your theories?
 
Also, we didn’t even know about the Changeling throne and that stuff like would work until Season 6 and I highly doubt anyone else knew about it as well.
 
And still you refuse to acknowledge that it took over 1,000 years before that seal weakened enough for a small argument to break it. At that point the seal was going to break on it anyway. Especially if it managed to survive the whole NMM incidents (which happened twice since he was sealed).
 
You provide what you think are “answers” that you think are guaranteed to work and then call Celestia inept for not doing these things but at no point do you think of what it would take to actually carry out some of these methods or see the massive holes in your theories.
 
Also, “stagnant”? Because you have a clear knowledge of Equestria’s entire history? Also, no where do people see her as a god. That’s a fandom thing.

I don’t think any human would survive without advancement.  
Where other animals got claws and fangs, we evolved as extreme tool users.  
We cannot stay stagnant. It would drive us mad.
 
And Celestia is suffering from the disconnected backstory syndrome - just like Dumbledore.  
Because she didn’t start as a fully fleshed out character, writers portray her differently each time.  
And everything the writers add casts a different light on everything established previously.

Celestia could very easily create an Imperium, delegate bureaucracy to Twilight and numerous vassals and just overlook things.

Firstly, Tirek was referenced as a means to drain Discord. Something we know works, unless you’re ignoring the entire finale. Seeing as research and development is a thing figure out a way to replicate it and divide Siscords power up to the point it’s not even a ten percent boost to the recepients and tadah, powerless “god” of chaos, who’s decidedly punchable for all the crimes he commited.  
Second, sealing a creature of magic in it’s antithesis is literally the most basic means of trapping them in the book, and we know Discord functions partially in the same rules as the rest because of the Changeling throne messing him up.  
Also, again, leaving a Czar bomb in a garden because you think it’s a dud is stupidity beyond measure. Theres literally no excuse for putting anything that carried that potential threat, immediate or not, in a public, open space.  
Omission is lying, just a fancy way to say you have plausible deniability, so yes, Celestia played a game with Equestria as the bargaining chips.  
Seriously, this fandom wants to rip characters like Lightning Dust and Polomare to pieces, but will excuse everything Celestia does and allows to happen through negligence.  
What makes people want to give someone all that praise no matter how many times they use others and frankly show such a great deal of ineptitude?  
Forgiveness?  
Because if thats the case you need to give it to everyone else otherwise all you are is biased, not forgiving.

Putting Discord in a magically and physically sealed room won’t do anything unless they know how he worked considering Discord was only able to be stopped by the Elements of Harmony.
 
And once again you’re trying to ignore the fact that 1,000 years spent in a garden and nothing managed to wake him.
 
I love how you think your ideas must be guaranteed to work. Like where are you getting these ideas of how the world works other than your pretend headcanons? And complaining about the gold spent on Canterlot’s roofs?

I honestly don’t care about his opinion, I just find it hilarious he’s treating a nigh immortal entity like a normal everyday person on the amount of control their supposed to have.  
Really, it’s her job to make her people and her land safe from these things and Celestia barely puts them out of sight before they’re out of mind.

And frankly outright lying instead of even attempting to prepare for it is absolutely lazy.  
Oh and yes, actually teaching the masses about something instead of brushing it under a rug tends to keep things from becoming myth, so once again laziness.  
Discord first of all should’ve kept in a sealed, both magically and physically, chamber in the most stable enviroment possible, as to what that is I have a few ideas, all of them artificially created and bordeline solitary confinement, limiting exposure to chaotic influence, something putting him in a bloody garden doesn’t do, and prolonging the elements effects while Celestia used some the gold wasted on Canterlots’ roofs for research into dampening and binding magic to effectively strip him of his magic ala Tirek’s ability should he get free.  
As for they study Tirek? Find another member of his species and go from there, more then one of them will have figured it out over the years and if they banned the practice the books detailing the ability would still exist in archives for a number of reasons.

You’re calling foul on my memory but she never called Nightmare Moon a myth. You can literally look up the episode or pull up a transcript. And still waiting on them citation on when Celestia turned these things into fairy tales.
 
Yup. Trying to treat one thousand years as if it’s a minor footnote. But I would love to hear what kind of containment you think would work on Discord with your infinite knowledge. Also, I want to know how you would come to understand Discord’s magic without tampering with Discord which would involve potentially releasing Discord.

Also, yes, otherwise the people would actually know the events and prepare for it instead of sitting around throwing a party? And seeing as she told Twilight outright in episode one it was a myth to orchestrate events, I’m calling foul on your memory, and so many other times where a standard history book from a school would mention these events and make them common knowledge.  
Congrats, one thousand years inert when the relics haven’t had bearers or been upkept. Genius, leaving the poorly if at all understood magic alone without any method of secondary containment.  
Again, leaving a Nuke in a garden just because it’s a “dud”.  
Luna is on the shot list anyway so don’t act like she’s being excused here.
