yeah that was one of the problems with the movie ignoring characters who could have helped instead of writing reasons why they couldn’t

Discord may not have been there till the end but he’s here trolling in spirit.

I kinda see it as both reasons. They would have had to introduce him to new comers in the audience, demonstrate what he’s capable of, and then backpedal on that to justify why he couldn’t just solve the problem right away.

I’m assuming they didn’t put him in the movie for multiple reasons.
 
But one of the big ones would be the fact that Discord’s rather OP. He might have easily solved some of the movie’s problem if he wanted too. Plus the movie was already kind of bloated enough as is with the amount of characters in it and casual viewers who just got into MLP probably would be confused had they introduced him into the movie.
 
That’s just two guesses of mine of course. I could be completely wrong.

There’s always the sequel :)

At first I mistook the architecture to the left for a massive, regalia clad princess hoof, but I didn’t recognize the colors.  
Then my brain re-routed that train of thought into the; “When in the heck did that happen” department,  
quickly followed by;
 
“Oh… It’s just a piece of architecture…”

Quite sad that this was Discord’s only “appearance” in the movie. (Though I think he also appeared in the credits as a silhouette.)
