It goes from evil to downright terrifying depending one just how long Cadence was down there. It could have been anything between a few days to a few months, maybe even a year. Chrysalis became powerful enough to knock out a pseudo-goddess in a single attack, she had to have been leeching Shining Armor for a long time, even with how powerful his love for his real fiance was. And if they were sexually involved, there’s always the chance Chrysalis repeatedly reminded Cadence of the fact that her lover was sleeping with a demon.  
It gets worse the more you think about it.
