I only know bits and pieces. I’m glad FiM is ending, and I hope it wraps up nicely by the end. I’m happy to watch a new movie, especially if it bridges the gap between FiM and G5. I like the concept art, I hope they keep that style. It’s a good evolution.
What else can really be said? The Last Jedi is the Empire Strikes Back of the new trilogy. That said, it’s not a happy movie. There are multiple times where the outlook is bleak, and that Hope may be lost. But, much like Empire, we’re left with a loose end that still shows that glimmer of Hope that ties together the whole Star Wars galaxy. Comedy was on-point, action was spectacular, and many times did my heart ache, especially whenever Carrie Fisher was on-screen. So far, this may be my favorite of the Star Wars movies, or at least of the new trilogy thus far. I am eagerly awaiting Episode 9, and of course, the Anthology movies in-between.
I wish I was any good at writing movie reviews outside of direct conversation. The short version is, I really liked most of it, only lost interest during some of the middle- mostly during the parts with Rose, who I was just starting to like near the end until she did a certain thing involving Finn. The rest of the final battle was spectacular, though. I am now an even bigger Kylo Ren fan than I already was.
