You wouldn’t need a gender swap spell for a gay couple to reproduce. You’d need s spell that directly takes an individual’s dna and fertilizes another with it, although that would probably be hard too

Okay, for one, you do realize that “figuring out the spell to perform the previously known as impossible” is pretty much Starlight’s whole thing, right?
And second, if you don’t like it when fanfics do that, that’s fine and fair, but you’re no one to call out people who do like it. All you’re doing here is raining on people’s parade when they’re just having fun.

No they won’t. And honestly I hate when fanfics do it; it’s a lazy way to avoid a far more interesting plot about deciding whether or not to even have children, and if they do, adopt or breed, and if breed, who does the breeding?. Something about it just genuinely irks me.

In Magic Duel, Trixie remarked that even with the Alicorn Amulet and all her power, that such a spell was technically impossible, and Twilight purposefully faked a sex change spell, so if Twilight knew that it couldn’t be done for real, and Trixie, even when power mad and powered up, realized that it had to be impossible, homosexual reproduction is against the laws of the setting. So yeah, homosexual breeding ain’t happening in canon.
