No, we’ve just reached a pop-cultural saturation point and there’s WAY too much to absorb.
I would assume the Internet would do the opposite of that, honestly. I can’t speak for anyone else – obviously – but like 90% of the fiction I know about I learned from stumbling across it on the web.
