Is this about pegasi, or about Flash Magnus in particular?

If you want to be technical, the father of Rome was Aeneas, who was a Trojan. If you go back far enough, the Romans were Greeks. But Flash Magnus himself is certainly Roman. The armor, the weaponry, and even his name all reflect it.
