The 2D-only release for its future slate of films is what I think It caused Power Rangers 2017 to be a commercial disappointment. (alongside other reasons why it was a box office dissapointment, such as the Beauty and the Beast competition, and how people don't see it as a Power Rangers film, therefore not gaining an audience for it). If Allegiant or Gods of Egypt didn't flop, despite how bad or good they are (especially bad), then MLP would have been the FIRST fully 2D-animated film to be released in 3D (and would have given respect to the people from Legend3D who did the 3D conversions and special effects, according to IMDb).
