He literally states that the soundtrack consists of nothing but pop songs and that the movie has no jokes whatsoever. Both of those claims are completely false. The trailers for the movie already disprove the joke claim, and even if he didn't like the music, how could he possibly mistake a musical number like "Open Up Your Eyes" for a pop song?


 
Regarding the generic plot of the movie, that's not really an issue. As we've seen in the show, the staff are more than capable of working a plot line that's been used over and over again in fictional media so that it still remains fun and engaging for the audience. Moreover, almost nothing in Hollywood now is 100% original anyways. Just look at James Cameron's Avatar; that film used one of the most common plot lines forin storiyteslling yet grossed well over 2 billion dollars in its box office run.
