Adding to this: The Sith attitude ended up severely fucking them over for a while though. After all, it's hard to have an army or stable organization when everyone's trying to dominate each-other and fighting each-other along with their enemies. Thus leading to occasions where battles that the sith could have easily won were lost because some aspiring, power hungry moron shoved a lightsaber through the back of the one commanding the whole battle because "Power".
Darth Bane brought in the Rule of Two for a reason.
Granted, the Old Republic era Jedi had their own problems. Like, say, a group of Jedi Knights killing their own padawans because of a bad force vision.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that in the Old Republic both the Jedi and Sith were kind of flawed.
