>Shipping Fruit with Lily instead of superior Nina-corn?
well, yes I wasn’t being serious. but nips could have ended it there as a huge downer, with the comet going off, rocks fall, everyone dies. it was actually an ending point that would’ve technically worked. that’s why I think the story struggled later, because all the mysteries were revealed, including that sphere. stuff after that, like the storm and those totally-not-kitsune being refugees from an even bigger bad, didn’t really have any foreshadowing from the beginning.
if I were him, I’d have kept amit’s true agenda a secret, and have a climactic battle that ends with them curb stomping him while the ark gets away. then things could settle down, and that’s when you can start hinting at new mysteries, like say his refugees for instance.
or maybe I’d just make tons of porn of lily and fruitbutt.
Are you considering the ending the first time they killed Sejor right before Arit was unleashed from the comet? because that isn’t really a point where things were tied up. Or are you talking about The Ark launching from Dusty Valley, which I still wouldn’t say works as an ending since the storm was always in the way? My point is that I may be short sighted in saying this but, I can’t really think of a point in Shooting Stars where you could really say it reached an end. FruitFlank’s original goal was to go on a backpacking adventure, which originally had the comet festival in Dust Valley as their intended destination. Then when Arit was Unleashed, the goal soon shifted to evacuating Dusty valley so the evacuees could regroup and stop the advance of the unleashed spirits once they begin to advance past the boarders of Dust Valley. To me it never seemed like FruitFlank’s main goal was ever met or made unobtainable besides maybe reaching crevice town, but by then stopping Arit had already become Fruit’s Party’s main objective.
