There is no "goodwill" to gather with /mlp/  
If a comment breaks a rule, it breaks a rule. That's how it has always been.
 
Plus, if /mlp/ actually cared about the tag itself some of them would have actually tried discussing it in the thread linked to them multiple times. So it's very apparent they didn't careg wabousn't the tag itssuelf.
