I’ve had this AU in my Mind Palace for a while, and even have a sorta-fanfic for it gathering dust over on my FIMfiction account… writing just isn’t my strong suit, I’m afraid XD But I have really been wanting to explore it a bit more through art, so here’s a start..!

Description of the Wizard!AU from my story, “The Harmony Guild”: In an alternate Equestria, creatures of all types use magic as an energy source, but only the greatest practitioners can harness, bottle, and wield it as wizards. Twilight Sparkle is training to become one such practitioner, and is about to enter her final year as a student at the Celestial School of Spellcasting.  
However, the political unrest in Equestria has begun bleeding into even its most tranquil corners. Since the disappearance of the Sun Princess, many years ago, the kingdom has fallen into the hands of Lord Blueblood, an arrogant and greedy monarch who rules cruelly and, at best, haphazardly. A unicorn unable to perform magic, he has set about enslaving Equestria’s greatest wizards to do his bidding, and help him keep control of “his” people.
 
When Twilight’s beloved mentor, Headmistress Celestia, is ordered into the service of Blueblood, Twilight determines not only to free her, but to overthrow the tyrannical lord, once and for all. Faced with a long journey and daunting magical opposition, it seems her sharp wit, a mysterious dragon’s egg, and a motley crew of bickering wizards once known as the Harmony Guild (long-since disbanded) are Twilight’s- and Equestria’s- last hope.
 

 
Twilight Sparkle
 
Twilight Sparkle is the daughter of two non-wizard unicorns, but has displayed a talent for magic since foalhood. She grows up dreaming of attending the oldest, most prestigious magic academy in Equestria: the Celestial School of Spellcasting. Her family isn’t rich by any stretch of the imagination, but when, at the age of 18, she is tested and accepted into the academy, she and her parents scrape hard to afford tuition.
 
Twilight loves her new life as a student. She is a fast learner, and after only a year is recognized as one of the brightest in the school, alongside the sharp-as-a-tack prefect from the year above her, Sunset Shimmer. While Twilight enjoys her classes thoroughly and hangs on the every syllable of her eccentric but wise headmistress, Celestia, she has a harder time adjusting to the many social aspects of student life… such as sleeping in a room full of snoring mares, dealing with the nagging of her classmate, Trixie, who seems to have had it out for her since they arrived, and, well… interacting with others in general. Usually, Twilight keeps to herself and her books, studying in-between classes and haunting the school library in search of new knowledge.
 
As one can guess, her academic capacity will be tested to the limit when Blueblood’s political agenda raises its head and starts interfering at the school. But the real challenge will be learning how to interact and work with other ponies… without giving herself a heart-attack.
 
 

 
I’ll probably add onto this AU bit by little bit, and while I plan to keep chiseling away at the fic I started, I think the best way for me to keep this thing alive is to draw more of it :3 Especially since I’m tired of not talking about what I have done with the rest of the Mane 6 for this, oouuyyyy XD
