Then if you get the PS4, I'd get the _*N Sane Trilogy_* and hold off on the originals. They're good to compare, but any of the fixes made in the later games are being placed into the _*Trilogy_* plus special features. And it's $40 for 3 games + all the new stuff when finding each one individually for the PS1 could be $40+ for the games themselves. Consider that even for a guy like me who can breeze through the levels relatively fast and yet this looks to be about 20+ hours of play (and I like doing the repeat playthroughs), it's worth the price.
 
Then again, this is my favorite game series, so I'm probably biased.
