You are correct. And Spike was correct in spotting that Bojack is an emotional train wreck that spreads his unhappiness to others like West Nile Virus and warned Twilight about it so that she wouldn’t get hurt in the relationship. As per usual she rolled her eyes at Spike, but with 50 hours the restraining order proved Spike right.
The real lesson is that everything wrong with Bojack is himself. He ends up hurting others that care about him or vice versa, unintentionally or otherwise.
What I love about the show is the pattern of how later in the seasons, the characters Bojack interacted with were not only his friends that he ended up hurting and losing, but have used the f word during those moments of drama/sadness.
