As a merchant who lives in her shop with a huge number of gems and other expensive merchandise, if there’s one pony who almost certainly has a lot of unsecured guns lying around her shop, it’s Rarity. She’s being generous by refusing to have foals over.

So, is the issue that she doesn’t babysit or that she doesn’t give an excuse?

Because in the first case you seem to be confusing generosity with being a doormat, and in the second you seem to be confusing generosity with dishonesty.
