I love how Derpy’s eyes get progressively more derped.

Rainbow Dash wasn’t just born a gifted flyer. She started at the bottom and worked her way to the top. Pretty much justifies her large ego. She really did earn it.

So many potential Character Analysis material here,from Spitfire’s off year,Lightning Dust Dominance,Derpy’s decline and Cloud Chaser and Flitters varied performances. With just a single scene comes a load of character buildup.

She is, Dash is younger than them all. She was allowed to race in the higher competition because of her skill.

Never noticed Derpy getting lower as her eyes got more derped at first.

Dash is younger, yes… she skipped a level, as referenced in the episode. Dashie was supposed to be a junior flyer but she was put in the older age team because she was so good

It’s sad to see how Derpy’s progression is steadily getting worse while her eyes do the same.  
She had the talent to be one of the best fliers, but life got in the way.
 
It’s tough.

Lightning Dust was always the best… good to know!!
 
also Spitfire should be #1 at least once… since she is obviously the captain now :P
