I’m just saying that they could just introduce a Timber/Twi romance if they wanted to and if they found an interesting pairing to do that. The characters are getting old every season and the show ran out of ideas. They might introduce new Starlight every season but they will still need to add something to the mane6 to not make their episodes stale. This season even feature Big Mac getting a canon crush.

Hasbro is also not interested in bringing romance into the show, that’s what Equestria Girls movies are for, and look how well they’ve been handling Twilight’s love life with Flash and Timber, is that the kind of “romance” you want to see in the show? :)

Now this is just your opinion. The writing staff change every year. Whatever they said 3-4 years ago is outdated already and they never said anything baout romance recently or even before Starlight appeared.

The only “real” romantic couples that exist in the show are “shinningxcadance” and the donkey couple, and that’s it.  
The writers have said many times that they’re not interested in pairing up any of the main characters with anyone else.  
So don’t bother getin your hopes up for any of your favorite ships to become canon someday, because the closest thing you’re ever gonna get out of this show is having them give each other a warm hug, or get too close to each other’s faces like they’re about to kiss, and nothing more.

Not really. As i mentioned, just because Fluttershy shown most affection to Angel Bunny doess’t mean that ship is more canon that FlutterCord. Some canon shipping is simply neutralised by default, thanks to the specific nature of that ship. Any student in Cheerilee’s classroom having a crush on her will also inidcate no development in the future. Any close physical interaction between Twilight and Shining dancing together in the middle of a rose garden will also have no future due to nature of their established relationship. You simply cannot ignore the storyline obstacles that will prevent the ship from becoming canon as long as they exist in the current G4. At least as long as we discuss canon tv show and not plotlines in the fanfiction which obviously can make literally every pairing work.

Yes, Sparity is a ship like any other ship in this fandom, but however I will point out that Spike never has romantic feelings towards nobody in the show but Rarity. While I don’t believe the ship will happened but Sparity is pretty close to canon then SpikeBelle and EmberSpike.

Sparity is a ship that isn’t like any others since can’t have legitimate ship teasing. Its literally a child crush on an adult pony. You can interpet their interaction few thousands times and accept two hundred headcanons but it doesn’t change the fact that no writer will ever ship an adult with a kid. It’s like trying to make the Angel/Fluttershy ship canon. Just because they share love and one is a girl and other is a guy and no matter how many time she will kiss him, they will never become romantic since he’s is established as her pet. The only choices for Spikes love interest in canon is someone who is not mature like he is (SweetieBelle or Ember) as long until the show will specifically establish that he reached maturity.

Ember was embarrassed at Spike’s hug, partly because she didn’t even know what a hug was and was dealing with Spike in her personal space, but accepted it because of their friendship.
 
Spike and Sweetiebelle, as stated, while cute, has no content to it. He’s danced with her twice at large get-togethers. Beyond that, when have they interacted? Hung out? Had a conversation between just the two of them? It hasn’t happened beyond him berating all three CMC for the gossip column, shoving off the pets on the CMC, and all three CMC talking him into going to the closing ceremonies of the equestria games. He’s never had a 1 on 1 conversation with Sweetiebelle.
 
Again, compare that to his interactions with Rarity, which have multiple instances of him being with her without anyone else involved, his outright affections stated for her, her returning them in the form of kisses of affection and her affectionate nicknames for him, and no one else comes close.

You know nothing about their ages, so cut that nonsense out, the writers don’t care you ship Spike with anybody from show because there are no official ages. Even his voice actress Cathy Weseluck ship him with Fluttershy, so nobody cares how old the characters are because they are just fictional characters. What you saying is based on your opinion.

Also this. Fluttershy/Discord, Sunburst/Starlight and BigMac/Marble are the only pairings in canon that were featured with a ship teasing blush. Although it doesn’t confirm a ship as canon (see Marble getting left out in SugarBelle episode) it gives more evidence that Ember might become that person to Spike as Fluttershy is for Discord, that Stalright is for Sunburst, that Cheese Sandwich is for Pinkie or that Soarin is for RaibowDash (although Soarin lost some shipping points to Quibble and Zephyr who actively bonded with Dash)

Spike can’t be shipped with Rarity because she’s an adult and he is not.
 
Spike can be attracted to SweetieBelle because she can inherit some of her charm when she mature with Spike.  
However, there is no meaningfull interaction between them and writers may not even be aware of this ship.
 
What writers are aware of are Ember and Spike’s friendship. Especially the current story editors who wrote that Ember episode and then mentioned it in Celestial Advice. As she’s is both a dragon like Spike and in close age as he is and she age as slowly as he does, it is more likaly from story persepctive for them to be shipped sooner than Sparityor SpikeBelle.
