Also, it was pretty decent.
was going more for the news of people just seeing it for the trailers IN the movies would be a good sign.
Serious, who are they competing with?
Even Rockstar Games are bronies!
It’s in no way an indicator for Hasbro how well the movie does how many go into cinema to watch that other movie.
The MLP: FiM movie teaser trailer is just an ad that gets shown before that movie, any numbers of people sitting in the cinema is counted for the movie they watched, not for some teaser trailers for other movies.
The view count the teaser trailer reaches on YouTube is much more important for Hasbro to assess how much attention the movie gets, so you should go and push those.
The Smurfs were actually pretty good for their time. You have to remember, this was the early ’80s, and Saturday morning TV had been in “the cartoon dark ages” since the ‘60s due to the rising costs of animation. Modern tech enabled The Smurfs to have the attention to detail that hadn’t been seen on Saturday morning shows before. They ushered in the whole “Saturday Morning Renaissance”.
hasbro research dept 1: non target demographic fans are telling people not to pay $ to see the mlp trailer in the theaters.
hasbro research dept 2: are they the same ones who kept complaining about the equestria girls movies?
HRD1: most of them
HRD2: give them what they want but they don’t want to vote with their wallets.
basically positive reinforcement at this point. if they see that it puts butts in the seats then it’s a good sign.
not a financially sane sign for the viewers side but a good sign for the producers.
Days?
Cough, cough. Minutes.

Those animations are amazing! :D They even improved the animations for the facial expressions, making them look even more lively than they looked before in the show already! :D
I am definitely going to live from cinema popcorn and soft drinks only in October! :D
Edited
looks like I was right
I mean, if you’re going to see The Smurfs anyway, knock youself out, otherwise…
fair point :P
it has to be better than the prior
That bar is so low even Hermes Conrad wouldn’t risk it.
eh it might be okay. it has to be better than the prior

movie=/=show.
that said, i dont think its worth having to sit through smurfs… unless you ask for a refund/raincheck/whatever after seeing the trailer but then it doesnt match pinkie, it’d be more a dash thing
imagine if it was transformers: the last knight
the reaction pic for that anti-tf (the one that keeps saying that franchise is dead) background pony would be hilarious (pony fans paying for transformers money to see the trailer)
That or Boss Baby…
Though you could get a ticket to the smurfs, watch the trailer then walk into another movie
eh not much can be shown there but its better than nothing.
clarence reference.
an in-universe long awaited revival movie’s trailer is set to appear in a third film of their paul blart expy
