Well, you’re not far off in that respect. I had a big hand in raising my younger brother because my parents got divorced. Consequently I feel very parental towards him.
I meant to compare the dynamic between a older and a younger sibling to orphan siblings metaphorically.
A fine theory, except we literally watched Twilight hatch Spike. That makes her a parent of sorts. Which is why it’s complicated. They have both a sibling and parent relationship.
Yep, Canon can be inconsistent. But we can ignore parts of it if we choose. We then have to call that headcanon. And you’re welcome to that, but please don’t say ‘canon says’ when you clearly know Canon says multiple things.
Father knows beast also had smolder not knowing what a pillow was, when just an episode or two earlier she was playing with pillows. It also had Smolder claiming “dragons don’t take advantage of others”, when that’s pretty much ALL they do.

Yes. I also watched her heart breaking during Father Knows Beast when Spike said “Maybe you just don’t like that I have a real parent now.”
Canon says they treated one another like siblings, canon also says Twilight feels very much like she raised him and worries she did it wrong. Therefore, canon says it’s complicated.

Granted, but my comment was in response to the one saying there is no reason to tag twispike as incest, and while I agree, for some people there are some reasons. Those people are wrong of course, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a reason for doing it.
Yeah, but… nothing is really going on here that mentions that. the only thing here is twispike denial.
There are some fans who consider Spike to be either Twilight’s son (because she hatched him) or Twilight’s brother (because they more or less grew up together).
Sometimes, people add tags that don’t actually apply to the picture for no apparent reason. :T
