My mistake. Was planning to include more people in there, probably forgot to remove you. :)
@thps48
And who’s that exactly?
You know damn well that there are fans that can be like that, not just Luna fans. So quit trying to justify their stupid crap.
Edited
According to you or everypony else? XD
So we’re supposed to agree with the loudmouth asshat?
Yeah the commissioner was being a rabid Luna fan. The kind that spouts that Luna is perfect and can do no wrong, and says that Celestia is like Hitler, or something equally stupid.
Edited
I explained that clearly, I’m not sure why you included me in that list.
@TheAbridgenator
@Kamazeustra
@thps48
You all seem to fail to notice that this situation is not one made by Vavacung. This is a patreon reward, and they get to choose whatever they want.
The previous rewards used by people to get their horribad Donut Steel alicorn OC’s drawn by Vavacung should have given you a clue.
Yes, this whole conversation is terrible. But that’s because the commisioner wanted it to be like that, not Vavacung.

Fixed That For You.
What? FTFY?
What are you on about now?
Well whatever.
I’ve said that it’s different if it’s in fanfics and such, and it is.
Edited
FTFY.
Well in this story yes, not in the cannon of the show.
So the “exterior force/manipulation” idea isn’t that far off the mark then?
Well, I can’t remember right now.
Though I’m pretty sure it was something along the lines of not really coming from a biased point of few, like not just hating on Luna or whatever.
And from what I’ve learned from the source link, it might’ve been Quick Fix who turned Luna evil in the story, or at least he was the one who helped get it started at the very least.
… Um… what was the rest of your… sentence? :/
This conversation is more or less about fan interpretations. We ourselves cannot explain the official reasons for Luna’s evil transformation with 100% accuracy until it has been officially touched upon, we simply take what has been addressed thus far and make our own educated presumptions, and give each other suggestions about how fitting they may or may not be. Until it can be explained properly, I will continue to theorize Cadance was born a pegasus 1000 years ago in the Crystal Empire, was sealed by Sombra’s curse, mysteriously escaped it, and reappeared twenty years before the show began near the earth pony village that adopted her.
You see, that’s the problem with your argument. You constantly need to try to find some reason as to why it’s not Luna’s fault alone that she turned into NMM. You guys never consider that it was possibly all her fault because she made selfish choices.
And I know they’re just characters, but that doesn’t stop it from being incredibly stupid.
And it’s when people like Luna fans have the nerve even to write a character like Celestia as uncaring and completely neglectful, but especially all that stupid crap of the New Lunar Republic painting Celestia as a tyrant and all that, that really pisses me off.
It’s like trying to say that someone who’s know to be a real generous and caring person is just suddenly a complete asshole.
Now I could understand something like in a fanfic something corrupted and took over Celestia or Luna, but that’s different, and can be written different. This person who commissioned it obviously just hating on Celestia.
Look, I look at it in a “middle of the road” point of view. And I’ve looked at it from multiple directions, so I’m not just hating on Luna, I’
And yes, I’m a fan of Celestia, but I’m not the opposite side of some Luna fanatics. I believe that Celestia could’ve possible done more, but so could have Luna done something as well. At least Celestia has the “excuse” of running a nation, whose citizens normally work and all that during the day time. There’s no disputing that fact.
Bottom line, it’s just plain retarded to write a character like Celestia, who’s loving and kind, as just a non caring or neglectful character just because. It can just happen that way. There needs to be legitimate reasons and explanation to why a character like that would suddenly go bad.

It’s not a matter of saying “who’s to blame”, but to open the window to discussion instead of slamming it shut like you’re doing. If NOTHING else, consider these words: This is in no way a personal attack on YOU; they’re characters written with personalities and motivations; it’s up to us, the ones who observe, the viewers, to discuss our stances, and debate them against one another as a manner of discussion, which this image allows us to do.
This is no fight meant here with Luna vs. Celestia, and a position on liking one more than the other is NOTHING in the face of simple discussions and debates on a subject pertaining to them, such as the one we’re addressing.
Meh, just sayin’.
“Join us, the obviously evil group that is likely lying about everything, instead of the team that you fangirl over for years or your friends.”
She kinda has her moment when she tries to tempt Rainbow Dash.
You’re underestimating the power of negative emotions. I’m also not ruling out that NMM herself is another entity, but Luna still let her take over during a fit of rage in that case. Also, NMM isn’t “manipulative.”

I’m not saying she’s totally innocent or that Celestia was in the wrong, but jealously can only carry one so far. I really don’t see Luna as completely capable of pulling such a stunt herself, at least not without any sort of hesitation. There had to be something giving her that final push into becoming Nightmare, sort of like a “deal with the devil” scenario. Considering how manipulative Nightmare could be, it wouldn’t be that surprising.
You’re right, Luna should have known better. Look, I’m not trying to make Luna look bad, but part of what I like about her is that she made a fatal mistake, paid the consequences, and helps others avoid the same fate.
That’s not quite a fair comparison.
Like a child pulling the trigger?
