Those are books. They have little bearing to the animated media. People will easily skip that stuff. Hence why plenty of people don't even read the comics. Plus, that's Flash's experiences, not SciTwi's. I saw no continuity nod at all in that scene. Not even a gag about it. Might as well never happened.
