This is the natural feeding habit of a pegasus mare. As you can see, this kills the stallion.
 
Only if they aren’t a good match, ideally she can feed off his energy for the rest of his natural life.

Its notable too that the previous glomp seemed to continue with a lot of cuddling (though we only see Vapor’s leg as most of the hugging is off-screen).
 
Not that one can’t cuddle with a friend, but it seemed to go on for a while…

You know, I’m beginning to think “best friends” is a euphemism for “lovers” in this franchise. You know suddenly, that brings the Core 7 of past series in a whole new light; were they all secretly lesbians (or at least bisexual) and we never knew about it?
