No amount of hugs could have cheered her up at that point.

Would I be right in saying that Luna, regardless of competence, is her anchor? She is her only lasting companion, after all.

Well, her and Philomena, but I can imagine the firebird is a very good conversation partner. Although all she’d have to be is a good listener. I think it’s a safe bet that Philomena knows Celestia better than anything else on the planet.
