I think it was something to do with young sombra in the comic?
“He cannot touch the crystal heart without hurting him badly”
Where did you get that information from? That was never stated anywhere in the show.
…..Okay yeah, your right. Nothing can beat alicorn tossing
He failed to kill a baby dragon that was saved by an alicorn thrown by a unicorn. Seriously, show me any other time a unicorn threw an alicorn and it failed to save someone.
Your comment sums up why I liked King Sombra’s first appearance in the show.
His timeline in the season 5 finale was great too.
@Lancalot
I have to agree though, this is not a good example…
pick his unpleasant magical traps,
or his mind manipulation of the crystal ponies,
or his gradual over-powering of Princess Cadance’s defenses.
Just off the top of my head.
Edited
I agree he didn’t have all the elements of sauron, but he did have the presence, evil, and darkness of sauron. So you’re right, if only sombra was in an episode where the writing didn’t suck
He did do things, like lay expert traps and enslave a whole country, but most of that barely effects our protagonists giving him no menace, instead dumping it all on literally nameless Crystal Ponies they fail to make us care about, and when it’s combined with the most out of placidly edgy design until Blizzard invented Reaper (though they’re at least self-aware) it becomes hard for the audience to care.
Oh no, I meant in the picture. Trying to do something and actually doing it are different. So showing a screencap of him failing to do something as an example of doing something was a tad silly imo.
“Attempted murder really? Do they give out Nobel prizes for attempted chemistry?”
@Beau Skunky
It’s like for Sombra it’s the stuff implied about him rather then the stuff we see him do and that’s just not enough for some people.
But then you factor in the stuff in the Sombra timeline and you realize there’s a reason they killed him off like how they had to blow up Makeshift on TF Prime because his ability made him to OP.
Please, no.
While the image is being a li’l extreme, he actually did do a li’l. Also, fans don’t seem to give Sombra any credit, as (comics aside) it was interesting to have a more subtle, and imposing villain. He was always there biding his time. No hammyness, not exposition speech about his evil plans. He also crippled Shining Armor’s magic, don’t forget. He seemed more dark & menacing that way. His traps, and puzzles seem to also show he was quite clever, and compared to other villains he came quite close to winning. Said traps even successfully trapped Twi’, the so-called “almighty invincible hero.” (She’s not, but some of her haters act like she is.)
So to say he didn’t do anything is quite bupkis.
You ought to watch the Season 2 finale again sometime, its pretty rad :D
it doesn’t matter. He tried to kill, and therefore did something.
